As of September New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue store will be offering close to double the amount of shoes they currently stock on the 8th floor of their flagship store under the name 10022-Shoe - 10022 being the postal code they've been granted.
The Post Office is also planning to produce a set of limited edition stamps to celebrate the occasion.
Now, while we are unsure as to why a department store would want a postcode for one of it’s department’s (will even the most extreme shoe-addict ever send a love letter to their favourite pair?) the amusement factor is certainly there, as are the shoes!
Just prior to Australian Fashion Week rumours hit the fashion world that hot young designer Josh Goot was working on a range for Target. We are very happy to report that the rumours were true.
The Josh Goot for Target range hits the stores on June 19th, 2007, with images of some of the designs being made public today.
Slick and sleek with lots of grey marle and silver this range will undoubtably run off the shelves as quickly as Stella McCartney's range did. Josh Goot was quoted to say "We have utilised high quality blended knits and popular finishes - the result is a fresh and current look that lets the wearer feel cool and modern."
We can hear the discussions around Australia already planning how to be at Target the morning it is due to hit the shelves...
We love the excitement and energy that Australia's Fashion Week created, plus the opportunity for new and rising designers to strut their stuff. So what came out of the week? Here we’ve put together a few What’s Hot and What’s Not to summarise.
What’s Hot
* Dresses
* Neon colours both solo and paired with black - in particular fluorescent limes and pink
* Josh Goot, Alice McCall and Tina Kalivas
* Sky high heels on both the feet of the audience and the models strutting down the catwalk
* Complimentary San Peligreno drinks & Eden chocolates
* Student designers
* The Source
* Beautiful Sydney weather that went into a summer mode to impress our international guests despite it nearing the end of autumn
* The video coverage on news.com.au
What’s Not
* No air conditioning and up to 500 people crammed into a small, curtained area
* Ksubi going overboard with their ‘matey’ invitations and leaving invited industry guests with seat allocations standing out on the footpath for over an hour only to then be rudely turned away when they called them to the door
* Running between 45 minutes to an hour late for each show and having to stand on the sky high heels for that ridiculous blocks of time
* Cranky security under a full moon
