A Totally Terrific Tote!
Always environmentally conscience, Aveda has provided a better solution to the paper versus plastic bag dilemma – choose neither, choose to re-use!
Their new Aveda Affinity black tote-bag has been created to encourage people to use a re-usable bag rather than plastic or paper shopping bags.
And if you need further encouragement just get your head around these numbers. Five hundred billion to one trillion (!) plastic bags are consumed worldwide each year and billions end up as litter. According to the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation, more than a million birds and 100,000 marine mammals and sea turtles die every year from eating or getting entangled in plastic. There are 46,000 pieces of plastic litter floating in every square mile of ocean, according to the United Nations Environment Program.
With the new Affinity Tote-bag, larger and more durable than its predecessor, made from a lightweight material consisting of 80% recycled cotton and 20% recycled PET, you’ll help reduce the number of disposable bags damaging the environment. And they’re only $9.95.
Aveda is available in selected Westfield salons, spas and stores. Call 1300 300 054 for locations or for more information visit www.aveda.com.
Looking for a good cause?
Sometimes “I don’t have a handbag that matches that shade of blue in the tiny emblem on this polo shirt I just bought” is not a good enough reason to buy a new bag. But, with 10% of all purchases going to the East African Orphanage, Urban Originals is offering you not to menton some deserving kids a chance.
In all seriousness this is a worthy cause. The East African Orphanage works under the principal that no child should go unloved or neglected providing better living for malnourished homeless children. With their unceasing support, attention, food, clothing and educational programs East African Orphanage does wonders. Now with Urban Originals as their largest supporter (having sponsored 34 children already) they can really make a difference to the children of Kenya.
One of our favourite accessories brands is really reaching out to make a difference. Now we can buy the latest and hottest accessories and do it guilt free and knowing that we’re helping too.
You can help the cause at Glue Stores, General Pants and David Jones nationally.
Nobody does jeans like NOBODY.
Nobody is celebrating their ‘Decade of Denim’. This cult Australian brand is the brainchild of brothers John and Nick Condilis. Started from humble beginnings in the family laundry in Melbourne’s Fitzroy they’ve got 10 years under their belts manufacturing Australia’s finest five-pocket jean.
To mark their birthday they’ve created the ‘Heritage’ collection, teaming up with famed Australian women’s-wear designer Toni Maticevski. The ‘Heritage’ collection features fashion pieces such as denim gowns, jump suits, tailored blouses and jackets in true vintage colours and fabrics, with selvedges made on narrow looms and authentically dyed, unfinished construction.
So rush in and grab yourself a handcrafted customised piece of denim love.

Nobody knows more about women than Benefit. The San Francisco label that brought us brow bars, a quick pitstop for eyebrow shaping, plucking and tinting, have once again proved that they know women better than Dr Phil, Ben and Jerry put together.
The key is individuality. The latest collection designed by Maggie and Annie Ford Danielson is based on the uber luxe and fashionable Royal Crescent in Bath. Each fragrance has been designed with a personality and story in mind, which actually comes through in the scent. ‘Laugh With Me Lee Lee’ is playfully innocent and mischievous. Then there’s the alluringly seductive ‘My Place Or Yours Gina’. And finally there’s the eclectic and free spirited ‘Something About Sofia’.
In these scents Benefit have captured that little voice in our head that says wear the red stilettos, wink at the doorman or take your shoes off and dance. Which personality do you Fit? Find out at Benefit available in Myer.
