Looking Chic With Sheike

Just in time for the Spring Racing season, Sheike is launching its new Spring/Summer collection officially marking the label’s 30th birthday. Honouring three decades of fashion, this season sees the high-street label providing a variety of limited edition cocktail dresses that will make you want to swap your sneakers for stilettos and the couch the dance floor.

I love supporting local designers and Sheike has been a consistent one-stop-shop for on-trend fashion that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

And once again you fellow frock fanatics won’t be disappointed because this seasons dresses feature sexy cut-out detail, beautiful drapery and curve creating waistlines in tangerines, lavender and cornflower blue. Not to mention the Ocean Sunset dress that amazingly can be worn seven ways, with proceeds from it’s sale going to environmental charity, COASTCARE.

As well as a plethora of party frocks, Sheike’s Summer range offers edgy fringing, studs and exposed zips, as well as sexy tailoring for the office and strong prints and for those who like to make a statement.

Races Ready with Kerrie Stanley

Hello Headband!  With the spring races just around the corner this season's hot headgear are charity inspired headbands. Kerrie Stanley has collaborated with the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre Appeal to create a range of limited edition, statement headbands.

Stanley, who lost her father to cancer 12 years ago, was keen to introduce headbands into her collection and saw the creation of this new line as an opportunity to do something for a really good cause. A portion of profits will be contributed to the Centre.

Signed by Olivia Newton-John, the collection consists of handcrafted individual pieces featuring sumptuous ribbons, buttons, netting and a range of other quality vintage materials. Kerrie has taken her inspiration from 1920’s art deco styling and the result is chic sophistication translated via a burgeoning trend.

The Kerrie Stanley headband collection for charity is available at selected Westfield Myer stores.

Country Road A Relaxed Vision
I could live in jersey separates like Henley tees and pleated pants so I’m a huge fan of the new seasons relaxed style. And, as if they read my mind, one of my favourite stores have released a summer ’09 line with ‘laid back’ at it’s very core.

Country Road, constantly on trend, never fails to find the fashion mark at affordable price points and their latest collection is no exception. Look out for retro cool, sporty chic, lots of jersey, cute micro-prints and faded denim. And they’ve reworked the shirt-dress with a mini-print.

Accessorize with wedged sandals in yummy suede or the updated gladiators, much more stylish this season, and that’s your whole summer wardrobe wrapped up! And if you have little ones then keep and eye out for the kids collection. It’s a stylish, fun and vibrant riot of vintage prints, stripes, washed-out colour and new denim shapes. The girls will love the mini floral prints and the boys will go bananas for the retro boardies, geo prints, checked shirts and retro graphic tees.

Seductively Addictive Sandals

The first step is admitting you have a problem. Well, here goes. Hi my name’s Sophie and I’m a Natasha-holic. I just can’t help myself!

Natasha Welsh’s confident, creative and sexy brand ‘Natasha’ is relatively young, established just 5 years ago, but that’s long enough to get me well and truly hooked. And to help indulge my addiction David Jones has snapped up Natasha’s heels and sandals to go with the clothing and accessories already in stock.

If you’re not familiar with the rage take it from me they are adorable and, considering the quality, affordable. Not too mention the range of great styles like Balinese, Indian and Modern. And because Natasha has such a great range of clothing and accessories, you will never have a problem finding something to match.

Available at selected David Jones stores in Westfield centres.

Stylish Storage For Bub And You

I recently stumbled on a stylish storage gift for my incredibly pregnant sister. To help take her mind off the wait I bought her a Storksak bag. It’s a fully functional yet extremely fashionable baby bag that comes in a great variety of styles and colours. I went for the quilted black ‘Elizabeth’ bag, which looks like it could be designed by Chanel but has indispensable innovative additions that Mademoiselle Coco did not think of; the padded baby mat, a wipe clean lining, thermo insulated bottle compartments and a load of internal and external pockets that got me a rare tick of approval from my 'bursting at the seams' sister.

Join Angelina Jolie and Toni Colette, two of the new brand of celebri-mums that have discovered the practical and stylish Storksak.

Stocked at David Jones and selected maternity stores at Westfield Shopping Centres.

I Think I’m Turning Japanese - At Least My Jeans Are!

Jeanswest has launched their new collection of Japanese denim. Renowned for its durability and more importantly, revered by fashionistas for the way it ages Japanese denim colours and fits the wearer so uniquely it’s at the core of the success of many famous brands, namely Evisu and Nudie.

Because of its quality and cachet when whispered by sales assistants Japanese denim is usually accompanied by matching dollar symbols in each eye. But not at Jeanswest, they’ve got an array of styles in the coveted material with cute touches like traditional handpainted red buttons and Japanese printed pocket bags from as little as $129. Yes, you can own your own pair of Japanese denim jeans without having to take out a mortgage.

So, Hayaku katte kudasai! Which, roughly, means quick, get down to Jeanswest and buy a pair of these!
