Westfield London A Huge Hit On Opening Day
Westfield London looks impressive at night with it's glass rolling shape roof

After five years of construction, 10,000 construction workers and 13 million man hours, Westfield London opened the doors of it's super chic £1.7 billion development in the heart of London yesterday.

Westfield London, with more than 280 speciality retailers (40 of which being luxury brands housed within The Village), five anchor stores and 47 places to eat at four different locations is one of Europe's biggest urban shopping malls.

Over 80 per cent of the retailers are fashion specialists who will fill six zones of fashion speciality including luxury, aspirational, urban chic, streetwear, kids and high street. The Village is anchored by Louis Vuitton and features a host of labels including Gucci, Tiffany & Co and De Beers.

Westfield London opened yesterday at 10:30am by Westfield's Mr Frank Lowy and Mayor of London Boris Johnson, and drew huge numbers of customers and journalists.

Westfield Figtree Has Even More To Love
There is even more to love at Westfield Figtree from tomorrow

Tomorrow Westfield Figtree will open the doors with even more to love, with the completed $20 million redevelopment which began in February 2008.

This has seen Westfield Figtree centre size increase by 1,850sqm to an expanded 21,770sqm and created space for 22 new retailers. The new includes fashion stores Autograph, Katies and Tree of Life, plus others such as The Reject Shop and EB Games.

During the construction of the Westfield Figtree, sustainability was a focus and to achieve this, this team developed recycling methods for waste materials as well as fitting all new light fittings with energy efficient globes.

The ambiant upgrade has added new tiling throughout the entire centre, timber ceiling fans and lighting which will all work to make the centre appear much fresher and brighter - thus an even more enjoyable location to do your fashion shopping. Now what's not to love about that!

Westfield W-League Kicks-Off On Saturday

Australia's brand new national league competition - the Westfield W-League - kicks off this weekend with eight teams from around the nation participating.

"This is not only an exciting new era in women's football, but it's also another landmark for women's sport," said Football Federation Australia (FFA) CEO, Ben Buckley.

One match each week from the Westfield W-League will be broadcast live and exclusive on ABC1 each Saturday at 4pm.

Westfield Group is supporting women's football ranging from the Westfield Championship for Girls, the national women's teams and the Westfield W-League.

Recently some of the star players from the Westfield W-League teams spent time with Sydney Magazine's Fashion Director, Amanda Newman, putting together fashionable looks that both reflect their individual personalities and represent the latest in summer fashion. Westfield Doncaster The Passion For Fashion
Exciting $600 Million Retail Redevelopment Unveiled Today
Westfield Doncaster will no doubt ignite passion for fashion with it's amazing array of luxury stores

Today the Hon John Brumby, Premier of Victoria, along with Steven Lowy, Group Managing Director, Westfield Group and Erika Heynatz of Westfield Style Counsel fame,  are to open Victoria's latest luxury retail destination, Westfield Doncaster.

Westfield Doncaster is located 12km east of Melbourne's CBD and will now offer 109,000 square metres of retail space. The centre has more than doubled in size since the redevelopment began in January of last year, growing from 200 to now 400 stores.

It will also declare a series of shopping centre firsts, including Australia's first bulter service, Victoria's first permanent valet service, Victoria's first parking guidance system and gizmo - an IT support service.

Additionally there is a dedicated styling suite space with fashion stylists on hand to support the wonderful array of Australian and international retailers.

The completion of the centre will see the opening of a new David Jones, a refurbished Myer department store, a premium fashion district including designers sass & bide, Hugo Boss, Zimmermann, Gorman, Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger, in addition to cosmetic boutiques at the level of Mecca Cosmetica, Kit Cosmetics and Aesop.

Environmentally concious, Westfield Doncaster has also been awarded a 4 star rating by the Green Building Council of Australia by implementing some unique iniatives including two 50,000 litre rainwater tanks for general cleaning and irrigation purposes, solar hot water panels fitten to 'The Drum', light fittings that have 'energy saver' globes and sophisticated management systems installed to monitor and minimise energy use.
